A New Addition

I can’t believe it’s been over 2 weeks since I posted a blog….You’d think I had been slacking or something.

The last 2 or 3 weeks have been a whirlwind of sorts.

The last week of February, I had my fantasy romance novel, “The Bracelet”, up for free at Amazon. It has done so amazingly well, and it continues to be selling. As of this morning, I was 45 books away from selling 20,000….ok, so most of that was free (19,324 I think it was at the midnight mark) but, it continues to do well. I’m very happy with how well it has done.

Promoting it, and my newly finished WIP (which is with my wonderful editor, William Kendall, and my equally wonderful beta readers, Mike Saxton and Norma Beishir) and doing a few interviews, as well as promoting my friends books, I have lost track of time and my humour blog…

I had decided some time ago (January to be exact) that I was going to enter this short story contest from the Toronto Star. It was free to enter, and the first prize was my kind of prize….$5000 plus a writing correspondence course worth $3000!! Even the second and third prizes were nothing to sneeze at…$2000 and $1000 respectively.

I procrastinated on the story, and at the beginning of February, realized that I still didn’t have a story. But, I hunkered down and worked hard on the short story…and I fell in love with it. I gave it to William to edit. Luckily I didn’t have to make too many changes with it. I wish I could post the story, but I can’t…not until the winners are announced. If I’m not a winner, then I will post it right away.

Which brings me to my next order of business…the new addition.

I will still do my funny blogs here, the stupid Walmartian pictures and the like…but, I thought I should maybe work on my writing, writing short stories and poetry, stuff like that. It might be helpful for when I win the grand prize…LOL

So, I made a new blog called, “Bent River Books”, my logo for my books. Bent River is a fictional town I made up for my book, “Remember The Eyes”. My main character grew up in the small town. I just thought it sounded like a cool name for my logo.

The new blog is at and there, I will post some new chapters, poetry and short stories. Right now, the blog I started over there has the Bent River Books logos…both of them!

Now, to go back to work on my new WIP…
